Red Bull X-Alps 2019

Another Red Bull X-Alps is in the books- and it ends with another 3rd position for me!
Coming in 3rd at the hardest adventure race on the planet is a great result. Coming in 3rd at this race for 4th time is even better...but it's also...boring? Well if that is boring, I guess it's also boring that Chrigel Maurer came in 1st for the 6th time;)
Nevertheless this year's race was very special, as the conditions have been flyable every day, so not a lot of road hiking was necessary. There was lots of snow on the mountains still and the route was made to make us pass turnpoints on foot more than the years before- not what I think is how Red Bull X-Alps should be too much about. At least we should get the chance to fly the whole route in one flight if weather conditions would allow to do so...
It was a pleasure to fight with Benoite Outters for the podium during the last days of the race until we decided to cross the finish line together- because it's still mostly about the adventure of reaching Monaco...
Thanks to my great Team and Sponsors!
