Grenzgang 808km Hike&Fly

My 800km hike&fly adventure started from my doorsteps. I was looking for a route to train for next year's Red Bull X-Alps when I found this perfect training line - the border of Salzburg. I thought of it like a route with endless turnpoints. The more of them I can check, the better I am! It's a #puremountain loop, because the border never runs along roads, it's always high up on the mountains.
The weather wasn't always good for flying, but I love to hike in the mountains, so I was never losing motivation to keep going on the loop. I hiked 320km on mountain ridges, covering more than 30.000m vertical, I flew 340km with my paraglider and did 140km on my mountainbike. the highest point I reached was the summit of Großvenediger 3.666m. It took 14 full days.
It was an incredible journey with lots of ups and downs during this project for sure. I have traveled around the world but on this project I've learned one thing: the best is often very close to your home and we should appreciate and protect what we call home.
